Biography

Steve launched Bray Farm IA in October 2023 following a 26-year career in fixed income asset management and research. Prior to Bray Farm IA’s launch, Steve held various roles in credit research and portfolio management at Federated Hermes with a focus on high yield bonds, leveraged loans, and CLO’s. Portfolio management responsibilities included various multi-asset strategies which involved allocations into Asset-backed, Mortgage, Corporate Bonds, and Leveraged Loan sectors. Previous experience includes Credit Relationship manager with Mellon Bank Corp in Boston, MA and as a Surety Bond Representative with Aetna Casualty and Surety in Boston, MA. A graduate of Boston College with a B.S. in Management, Steve also received his MBA from the Katz School of Business at the University of Pittsburgh.

Steven Wagner is an Investment Adviser at Bray Farm IA, where he develops portfolio strategy through macroeconomic modeling and systems analysis and publishes research on market functioning and geoeconomics. He holds FINRA Series 7 and Series 66 licenses. Before Bray Farm IA, Steven worked in quantitative and environmental research across the public and research sectors, including the New York City Mayor’s Office of Management and Budget, where he conducted due diligence on energy-transition capital investment, and Lamont-Doherty Earth Observatory, where he modeled long-term climate data. A graduate of Boston College with a B.S. in Mathematics and a B.A. in English, Steven received his M.S. in Sustainability Science from Columbia University.
